Snails

Snails

A snail can be found all over the world except in Antarctica.

It is an invertebrate because it doesn’t have a backbone.

It has a shell instead of a backbone it is called an exoskeleton. Snails eat fruit, plants and bark.

Snails live on the ground, in gardens, near bushes and trees.

They lay their eggs in dirt. The predators that eat them are birds, frogs, reptiles and sometimes even dogs.

A snail has eyes on top of it’s antennas to see stuff that are a bit high.

A snail is like a big slug but it has a shell.

A snail is not an insect because insects have 3 body parts and insects also have 6 legs.

Snail’s teeth are on their tongue.

Some snails Hibernate. Some species of snails hibernate during the colder months of the year.

Snails can have a long life.
